The Rev. Myra B. Nagel is an ordained minister in the United Church
of Christ. A graduate of the University of Illinois and a member
of Phi Beta Kappa, she received a Master of Divinity from Wesley
Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. She is the author of the
books "Journey to the Cross"(1966) and "Deliver Us from
Evil: What the Bible Says about Satan" (1999), both published by
the United Church Press. She has co-authored (Trish
Towle Greeves)
several Leaders' Guides for the Kerygma Program: "Exodus:
Gateway to the Bible,"
"The
Commandments for a Blessed Life,"
and the new release, "God
Saves a People."
She will also co-author the Leaders' Guide for "God
Is Faithful,"
to be released later this year.
Rev. Nagel has
long been active in adult Christian Education. She has served as
Associate Minister for Education in churches in Vienna, Virginia and
Port Charlotte, Florida and has been an education consultant in the
Potomac Association (Washington DC area) of the United Church of
Christ. She has written curricula for the ecumenical DISCIPLESHIP
ALIVE! SERIES and THE INVITING WORD, published by United
Church Press. Recently she has retired from parish ministry in
order to devote more time to writing and teaching. She and her
husband Don live in Punta Gorda, Florida. She is a member of the
Congregational United Church of Christ of Punta Gorda where she
teaches a weekly Bible study.
