Luke 7:39-40

“Now when the Pharisee who had invited [Jesus] saw it, he said to himself, ‘If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what kind of woman this is who is touching him – that she is a sinner.’ Jesus spoke up and said to him, ‘Simon, I have something to say to you.’”

Even without looking ahead in the narrative to see what will happen next we have the sense that Jesus will confront the Pharisee with his self-righteousness and most likely tell him a story to make his point. Since Jesus reaches out to forgive sinners we are also pretty certain that it will probably be a story about God’s grace and forgiveness. Just imagine Jesus calling your name and saying, “           , I have something to say to you.” What do you think Jesus wants to say to you? What is it that you would most like to hear from Jesus?  What story could be told about the presence of God’s grace and forgiveness in your life?
