John 11 and 14

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God ... And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth."

The Prologue to John's Gospel is the lectionary text for Christmas Day.  John strips away the stable, the manger, the angels, and the Wise Men to look at what is the truth in those stories.  With the coming of Jesus into the world, God's fullest self-expression has been revealed.

" And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth."
