John 6:26
"Jesus answered them, 'Very truly, I tell you, you are looking for
me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the
loaves. Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food
that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.'"
The crowds have come to Jesus for physical food. What he is
offering is vastly more important. God has made it possible for
Jesus to give eternal life! The problem with those who confront
Jesus in John's Gospel is that they ask for too little. Jesus is
prepared to make them fully alive, joyful, and at peace through a
living relationship with the forgiving God.
