How should we respond when we feel overwhelmed by the serious problems of the world?  The cynicism expressed by some about the likelihood of a genuine moral and spiritual revival in our own country is near the top of the list.  And other very practical concerns are right there with it.  The pockets of poverty that resist easy solutions, the lack of adequate health care for many, and the economic problems of underdeveloped countries.  When we are tempted to become discouraged, let us recall these words and remember that our responsibility includes praying for people who are able to help.  Until we have prayed for true leaders who can make a genuine difference, our work still lies ahead of us.
