Matthew 13:44

"The Kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up.  Then in his joy he goes and sells all he has and buys that field."

A one-sentence parable of Jesus with a powerful if pithy point.  I had it down - until someone mentioned the inheritance laws of old Israel.  Suddenly the man didn't have ownership of that treasure at all the former owner did.  Instead of a point the parable now had a paradox.  They are mostly like that.  Probably why this one's called a 'parable of growth.'
