Matthew 25.42

"Watch, therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming." 

It is a surprise to some that Advent officially begins with 'second coming' scriptures.  Thus the emphasis on God's coming in Jesus Christ takes on a thoughtful note from the start.  Now, some look eagerly for the event to occur.  While, some consider how it has happened already - for example through his ongoing Spirit in the church.  And others feel his Spirit is already here in part, even as we wait for his fullness once again, and act to prepare the way! Amid these festive and sometime frivolous days, Advent can be a time to 'Watch' and reflect upon what you really do believe - and whether it shows.
