Why do we continue to serve God if there are no guarantees?

There was never a time when the book of Job was not relevant, but it is especially so in today’s world. If there are no answers to some of our biggest questions, we—like Job—need to learn how to live without them. The real theme of Job has to do with the limits of human wisdom. God does not answer Job’s questions about suffering, but reminds Job that he’s out of his league. We do not have all of the answers; God does. Faith, as Job understands it, is an exercise in radical trust.

The Leader’s Guide comes on a disk or flash drive for computer use. Review the activities, then copy and paste your choices into your own personalized lesson plan. “Background from the Author” by Dr. Bechtel is also available in video clip format on this disk.
