George Ramsey Herrington Professor Emeritus of Bible at the Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC was an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). The son, the father of (and father-in-law) PC(USA) ministers. Professor Ramsey taught Bible at Presbyterian College for 37 years and has served as an adjunct professor of Bible at three Presbyterian seminaries. Dr. Ramsey received degrees from:
- Davidson College (A.B. 1959)
- Union Theological Seminary in Virginia (B.D. 1962)
- Princeton University (MA 1965 and Ph.D. 1968)
- Princeton University (Ph.D. 1968)
His academic specialties include Old Testament, Literary Criticism of the Bible, World Religions and Biblical Hebrew. He taught in local churches, presbytery and synod workshops and at conferences on theology and Christian education. Dr. Ramsey’s writings have appeared in numerous professional and church publications.
