Patricia Dutcher-Walls

Dr. Patricia Dutcher-Walls is Assistant Professor of Hebrew Scripture and Old Testament at Knox College at the University of Toronto, a graduate school which prepares ministerial leadership for the Presbyterian Church in Canada. She holds a Doctor of Theology in Old Testament/Biblical Studies from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California, and a Master of Divinity degree from Harvard University. She has published several articles and a book, Narrative Art, Political Rhetoric: The Case of Athaliah and Joash (Sheffield Press, 1996). A life-long Presbyterian, she was ordained by the United Presbyterian Church (USA) in 1978 and has been active in the church through positions in campus chaplaincy, part-time congregational leadership, preaching, and social ministries. With a love of teaching, she has led numerous adult education courses, retreats, and continuing education courses for clergy. Now a minister in the Presbyterian Church in Canada, she is married to a Lutheran minister and has two children.

 

She is currently teaching at Vancouver School of Theology, Vancouver BC, Canada.
